Sprite, one of the top-ranking Coca-Cola Company soft drinks worldwide, has endorsed its mark in South Africa with the massive, hand-painted, 7.7m x 100m Clear Channel Outdoor wall mural on the M1 South highway in Johannesburg. Sprite has a strong appeal to young people and the position of the wall mural, just below Wits University, is perfectly sited.

The mural took artist, John Christos, just under 3 months to paint. The unfolding creative became the talk of the town, particularly as the brand was painted last. The rendering of the Sprite creative bridges the gap between advertising and art, and resurrects the lost art of hand painted adverts.
